The global food shortage are killing people around the world. The World Food Programme has referred to this crisis as the Silent Tsunami. BBC reports that the food crisis has put over 100 million people into poverty. The World Food Programme is helping over 70 million people fight the crisis, but with rising prices they are running over $700 million short. The urgent measures has been called to raise food productions in order to satisfy the global demand and stop the spread of the food crisis. The food prices has increased by over 40%, this has resulted in protests in several countries.
